Code Beautifier & Formatter
Make pasted code readable using a parser for the language you select. Tune the formatting options your project actually uses, then download the formatted source or the matching Prettier configuration.

How to use Code Beautifier & Formatter
- Choose the language before pasting code or loading a source file. The file loader suggests a parser from common extensions.
- Set indentation, print width, quotes and semicolons. Open the extra settings for trailing commas and line endings.
- Format in a background worker. Review the result, download the source and export a reusable .prettierrc.json if needed.
When to use this tool
Make a source file readable for review or align formatting with a project style. Use the exported Prettier settings when you need the same choices in your editor or build process.
Formatting settings that travel with your project
Print width is a wrapping preference, not a strict maximum line length. Tabs control indentation while tab width also influences alignment. Semicolons, quote choice and trailing commas apply where the selected language permits them; JSON still needs double quotes and cannot contain trailing commas. LF and CRLF settings let the result match your repository's newline convention.
Worked example
JavaScript input: const item={name:'PixelOkay',active:true};
Example output:
const item = { name: "PixelOkay", active: true };Limits and output checks
Formatting is not minification, linting or a correctness proof. Invalid syntax produces a parser error. The formatter loads pinned Prettier modules from a CDN and processes code locally; it does not execute the submitted program. A 30-second worker deadline bounds processing.

Frequently asked questions
Can I format code without running it?
Yes. Prettier parses and prints source code. The submitted JavaScript is not evaluated as a program.
Why are my quotes or commas unchanged?
The language grammar or parser may override a preference. For example, JSON strings use double quotes and JSON has no trailing commas.
What does the configuration download contain?
It contains your formatting preferences for use with Prettier. The selected one-off parser is excluded so a project can infer its parser from each filename.
A practical workflow
Choose the source language, format a small snippet and compare it with the original before applying it to a project.

Formatting is not linting, minification or proof of program correctness. The parser can reject unsupported or invalid syntax; supporting modules require downloads.
