Color Blindness Image Simulator
Review whether image labels, chart series and interface cues remain distinguishable when color relationships change. Upload an image, compare the original with an approximate filter and export the preview for a design discussion.

How to use Color Blindness Image Simulator
- Select a browser-supported image. It is decoded locally and reduced to a bounded preview size.
- Choose a simulation and intensity. Show the original beside the filtered image to compare cues and labels.
- Inspect edges, symbols and text rather than relying on hue alone. Download a PNG of the filtered preview when useful.
When to use this tool
Compare chart colors, illustrations or interface screenshots under approximate color-vision filters. Use labels and contrast checks alongside the preview; simulation cannot represent every viewer.
Use simulation to find color-only communication
A chart becomes easier to interpret when series also differ by labels, patterns or shapes. A form error should have text or an icon as well as a changed color. Protanopia, deuteranopia and tritanopia options apply approximate RGB matrix transforms; the monochrome option removes hue differences. Intensity blends the filtered pixels with the source and is a preview control.
Worked example
Review a red/green status chart.
1. Compare the original and deuteranopia preview.
2. Check whether labels identify both states.
3. Add shape or text cues where hue is doing all the work.Limits and output checks
These are approximate design filters, not a clinical model, diagnostic test or exact account of any person's vision. Intensity is not a medical severity scale. Export dimensions match the reduced preview, not necessarily the original file. No image metadata is deliberately preserved in the PNG.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a color-blindness diagnosis?
No. It is a design preview using approximate pixel transforms. The result cannot diagnose or measure a person's vision.
Why is the exported image smaller?
The working canvas is bounded for browser responsiveness. The dimension note shows the actual PNG size before export.
Does a good-looking simulation prove accessibility?
No. Also inspect text contrast, labels, non-color cues, keyboard interaction and other applicable requirements.
A design filter is not a diagnosis
Choose an image and preview the supported simulation settings. Inspect the displayed working dimensions before downloading the PNG.
Scope of this workflow
The filters approximate appearance for design exploration, not a clinical model or any individual vision. A favorable preview does not establish accessibility.
