Transparent PNG export
Preserve transparent pixels so cutouts work in presentations, product listings, and graphics.
Remove backgrounds and export a clean transparent PNG. Use AI cutout for people and products, or quick color removal for simple backdrops.
Preview updates as you edit. Download applies your settings.
Select an image to begin, or use the built-in blank canvas where available.
Selected images are processed on your device. Inputs must be non-empty and no larger than 50 MB; decoded images and exports are limited to 36 megapixels and 14,000 pixels per side. Browser support varies. Re-encoding can remove metadata; animated inputs become a single still frame. Keep your original.
Remove backgrounds and export a clean transparent PNG. Use AI cutout for people and products, or quick color removal for simple backdrops. Color removal limits output to 2400 pixels per side and 6 megapixels. AI mode downloads external code and model files and requires a compatible browser; use color removal if it is unavailable.

Use AI subject separation for complex photos or a simple color-key method for plain backgrounds.
Images are processed in the browser. AI model files download from a third-party CDN on first use.
For a flat backdrop, sample its color and raise tolerance gradually to protect similar-colored parts of the subject. AI cutout can help with more complex scenes but may miss hair, translucent objects and fine edges. Inspect the transparent PNG against both light and dark backgrounds before using it in a product listing or presentation.
PixelOkay runs the image editing steps in your browser rather than transmitting selected photos to our application server. Some advanced features, such as AI background removal, may download supporting code and models from an external CDN. Actual performance depends on image dimensions and your browser's memory.
Color removal compares pixels with the chosen color throughout the image. It does not know which pixels belong to the product. A white object on a white backdrop is therefore a different task from a dark object on a plain white backdrop.
| Starting image | Useful first choice | Review before keeping it |
|---|---|---|
| Dark product on a flat, contrasting backdrop | Color removal with the backdrop color selected | Increase tolerance gradually. Similar colors inside the product can also become transparent. |
| White clothing on a white backdrop, or a busy scene | Try AI subject cutout | The model can still miss edges or subject details; a cutout is not guaranteed. |
| Glass, fine hair or translucent material | Compare the available methods cautiously | Neither method guarantees natural fine edges. Keep the original when the result is unsuitable. |
Color removal can reduce large images to its 2,400-pixel-side and 6-megapixel limits. Keep the transparent PNG as a reusable cutout; composing it over a new background is a separate editing step.
Open JPG, PNG and WebP images, plus other still images your browser can decode. Export PNG. Animated input becomes a single still frame. Keep the original file: exported images flatten the edits and may lose metadata.
Upload a PNG or JPG, choose AI Cutout or Color removal, preview the result and save a transparent PNG.
AI mode attempts to separate complex subjects but can miss fine edges, hair, or translucent objects.
The page does not upload the chosen image; AI mode fetches model and runtime files from a CDN.
The model and supporting runtime must download before processing. Subsequent runs may be faster with browser caching.
Try color removal for a plain backdrop or AI mode for a more complex subject. Inspect the result against light and dark backgrounds before placing it in a design.
Fine hair, translucent objects and busy scenes can produce imperfect edges. AI processing needs supporting downloads; the exported PNG is a flattened still image.
Read the format and processing details above. Keep the original and inspect the downloaded result.
