JPEG, WebP and AVIF use quality controls where supported. GIF output is a single still frame (not animation). HEIC/HEIF input uses an additional in-browser decoder. Output HEIC/HEIF is not available.

Selected images are processed on your device. Inputs must be non-empty and no larger than 50 MB; decoded images and exports are limited to 36 megapixels and 14,000 pixels per side. Browser support varies. Re-encoding can remove metadata; animated inputs become a single still frame. Keep your original.

Why use this image tool?

Convert HEIC, HEIF, GIF, BMP, JPG, PNG and WebP files to popular formats with batch download and flexible quality settings. Choose quality and dimensions to suit your upload limit, then compare the output size before downloading.

Popular formats

Export JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF, a still GIF, or AVIF when the browser supports it.

Transparency control

Keep transparency with PNG or supported WebP/AVIF outputs; choose a background for JPG, BMP and still GIF.

Batch conversion

Convert multiple files in one go and download everything as ZIP.

How to use it

  1. Add browser-readable images or compatible HEIC/HEIF photos. HEIC decoding downloads an optional library.
  2. Choose the output format, quality and optional maximum long edge. Select a background for formats without transparency.
  3. Click Convert Images and download files or a ZIP. Animated images become still frames; AVIF encoding depends on your browser.

Frequently asked questions

Which formats are supported?

Export JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, TIFF and still GIF. AVIF output requires browser encoder support. HEIC/HEIF files are decoded locally through an optional JavaScript library; other inputs depend on browser decoding.

Does JPG support transparency?

No. Transparent pixels are flattened against your selected background color.

Is PNG always smaller than JPG?

No. PNG is lossless and often larger for photos; JPEG and WebP can be smaller at lossy settings.

HEIC to JPG, HEIF to PNG and other everyday conversions

iPhone and iPad cameras can produce HEIC or HEIF photographs. This converter uses an additional JavaScript decoder for those files, then exports to JPEG, PNG, WebP or any other format supported by the chosen encoder. All image conversion runs on your device, although the optional decoding libraries are downloaded from CDNs.

Convert GIF, BMP, TIFF and AVIF images

Upload GIF, BMP, TIFF or AVIF when your browser can decode the input. A GIF with animation is converted from the browser-decoded still frame; GIF output is also a single frame, not an animated sequence. TIFF output is a single page. AVIF output requires browser support; an unsupported encoder produces a clear error instead of a mislabeled file.

Make a transparent logo copy and an opaque delivery copy

Converting formats changes how an image is encoded. It does not recreate missing transparency, remove an existing backdrop or recover detail lost in an earlier JPEG.

  1. Keep the original logo and convert the PNG copy first. Choose a maximum dimension only if you want a downscaled result; that limit does not enlarge a smaller source.
  2. Return to the original input for the JPEG run. Choose the required background rather than converting an already compressed copy repeatedly.
  3. Download and open both results in the receiving application. A filename extension alone does not establish compatibility or preserve the source's metadata.

For a source with a solid backdrop, use Background Remover as a separate step. For a strict attachment-size request, use Compress Image and inspect its best-effort result.

Authored delivery scenario; no new converted outputs are supplied. Animated input remains a still frame, and HEIC input decoding or specialized encoders can require library downloads. Keep the source when animation or source-format fidelity matters.

Which output format should you choose?

JPEG is useful for sharing photographs and compatibility. PNG preserves transparency and sharp edges. WebP is a strong option for modern websites. AVIF can reduce the size of photographs further when the browser supports encoding it. BMP is uncompressed and usually large. TIFF suits some print and archival workflows. GIF output is useful for a legacy still-image requirement, but does not preserve animations.

Why can't I export a HEIC file?

Browsers do not provide a widely supported HEIC or HEIF output encoder. This tool supports HEIC/HEIF as inputs through a compatible decoder, but does not promise HEIC/HEIF export.

Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG on Windows?

Yes, when the HEIC decoder library loads and the file is compatible. Choose JPG as the output and download the converted image locally.

Will an animated GIF stay animated?

No. The browser canvas workflow uses a still image frame. Animated GIF preservation needs a specialized frame-by-frame conversion pipeline.

Can I convert AVIF to PNG?

Yes, if your browser can decode the source AVIF image. PNG output is widely supported.

Choose a format for a logo or photograph

Use PNG when transparent logo edges matter, or consider JPEG for a photograph that does not need transparency. Inspect the output in the application where it will be used.

Before choosing the output

Animated inputs become a still frame and TIFF output is single-page. HEIC/HEIF export is not included; AVIF output requires an available browser encoder.

Read the format and processing details above. Keep the original and inspect the downloaded result.
