CSV Viewer

A clear view of your tables, with every value kept as text.

CSV & TSV · Local processing · 5 MiB / 100,000 cells · No account required

JavaScript and a modern browser are required. Reload if the controls do not appear.

Read the data without changing it.

Inspect exports, contact lists, and datasets as a table. Values are not converted into numbers, dates, or formulas. A cell containing 000127 stays 000127, and long identifiers keep all their characters.

Quoted commas, escaped quotes, line breaks, empty fields, and uneven records are supported. The table renders 25 data records and 12 columns at a time. Cell previews are limited to 2,000 characters; the full read-only inspector and source download retain the complete values.

Malformed quoting, invalid encoding, empty files, and files beyond the supported limits show a clear error while leaving the open table intact. No recovery draft is created by the viewer.

CSV viewer questions

Can I open CSV and TSV files now?

Yes. Choose a file, paste text, or try the sample, then open the table. Reading runs locally with the same CSV parser used by CSV Editor.

Can I change cell values?

This viewer is read-only. Use CSV Editor to change values. Search, filters, sorting, headings, and pagination change only the view. You will need to select your file again in the editor.

Will IDs, empty fields, quotes, and line breaks survive?

Values remain text, including leading zeros and long numbers. Quoted delimiters, doubled quotes, multiline values, empty and missing fields, and uneven records are supported. Long previews are shortened; select a cell to inspect its complete value.

What does Download source save?

For a file import, it downloads the original file bytes, preserving encoding, quoting, line endings, and all records. For pasted input, it downloads the entered text as UTF-8 CSV. The current search, sort, or filter never changes this download. Pasting follows the browser’s text line-ending behavior.

Are file contents uploaded or retained for recovery?

No. CSV Viewer processes selected contents locally and does not read or write recovery drafts. It loads the parser bundled with PixelOkay.

Which formats and limits are supported?

Choose comma, semicolon, tab, or pipe, with a previewable auto-detection suggestion. File encoding choices are UTF-8, UTF-16 LE/BE, and Windows-1252; Auto uses a BOM or strict UTF-8. Limits: 5 MiB file/pasted UTF-8 text, 10,000 records, 256 columns, 100,000 cells, and 100,000 characters per cell. Tables show 25 data records and 12 columns at a time. XLSX workbooks are outside CSV Viewer’s scope.

Continue your workflow

A practical workflow

Open a CSV containing identifiers, choose its delimiter and encoding, then inspect long values in the cell view rather than relying on shortened table previews.

Read the scope alongside the result

Cells remain text, including leading zeros. Source download is not a filtered export, and XLSX workbooks require a separate viewer.
