Bring paper into focus.

Photograph your page on a contrasting surface in even light. Add multiple photos, or use the camera picker on a supported phone.

Four corners. Straight pages.

Review the suggested paper edges or place the corners yourself. Remove shadows, whiten the paper, then try a scan filter.

All together, as a PDF.

Put pages in order, choose a paper size and create one document. Download individual cleaned pages as JPG too.

A few things to know

Supports browser-readable photos; convert HEIC or TIFF to JPG first. Existing PDF files can be converted with PDF to Image, then added here. Automatic edge suggestions work best for light paper on a contrasting surface. Review the corners and adjust them manually when needed. Shadow removal and whitening work best on text documents; use lower settings for illustrations. Scans stay images; this tool does not add searchable OCR text.

Photos are processed locally and are kept only for this session. Working images are limited to 2,400 pixels on the longest edge; PDF scans export at up to 2,200 pixels. The PDF library downloads from a CDN when needed. Refreshing this page clears your workspace.

When to use Document Scanner Online - Photos to PDF

Prepare photos of receipts, notes or paper pages for a scan-style PDF. Review the paper corners, adjust cleanup and put the pages into reading order.

How to use this PDF tool

  1. Add browser-readable photos or use the camera picker on a supported device. The page allows up to 30 pages and 50 MB per file.
  2. Review suggested document edges or position the four corners manually.
  3. Choose scan filters and cleanup settings, then order and rotate pages.
  4. Set PDF paper size, orientation and margins, create the document and download it before refreshing.

A practical example

Photograph a receipt on a contrasting surface in even light. Check the corner selection, use a cleanup setting that keeps small amounts readable and add it in order with the other receipts.

Prepare mixed receipts without losing faint print

A bright receipt and a shadowed receipt may need different cleanup. Correct each page's geometry first, then choose filters that leave small totals and dates readable.

  1. Add your own receipt photos. Rotate any sideways page before finalizing its crop: rotation resets the corners to the full photo.
  2. Choose Find document edges or position the four corners manually. Check the complete paper outline, including any printed amount close to an edge, then switch to Scan preview.
  3. Compare Clean color, Grayscale and Black & white. Reduce whitening or contrast when faint ink disappears. Inspect totals and dates rather than judging only how white the paper looks.
  4. Use Apply filter & adjustments to all pages only when those settings suit the other receipts. Revisit every page after applying them and adjust exceptions individually.
  5. Order the pages, choose A4, US Letter or Fit to scan, and review orientation and margins. Create the PDF and download it before refreshing. Save page as JPG when you need one cleaned image separately.

Authored receipt-review workflow; no source photos or cleaned results are supplied. Export quality does not recover detail absent from the photograph. These scan images do not gain an OCR text layer: Extract PDF Text can separately attempt recognition and produce TXT/Markdown, not make the scan PDF searchable.

If the photos need no perspective correction or cleanup, use Image to PDF. Combine the finished scan with existing PDFs using Merge PDF.

Output and document limits

Edge suggestions need manual review. Working images are bounded to 2,400 pixels on the longest edge, and PDF scans export at up to 2,200 pixels. Scans remain images without searchable OCR text. Refreshing clears the session; the PDF library downloads when needed.

Frequently asked questions

Does the scanner create searchable PDF text?

No. It creates image-based scan pages. Use a separate OCR workflow if you need recognized text.

Can I start with a PDF instead of photos?

Convert the required pages with PDF to Image first, then add the resulting images to the scanner.
