When to use this calculator
Compare taking dividend cash with reinvesting distributions over the same horizon. Inspect how assumed dividend growth, share price changes and the selected tax percentage influence the projection without treating the yield as guaranteed income.

How to use Dividend Income & Reinvestment Calculator
- Enter an initial investment, share price, dividend yield and growth assumptions.
- Choose payout frequency, a flat illustrative dividend tax rate and whether dividends are reinvested.
- Compare cash/reinvestment projections and fractional share counts. Export the schedule or calculation report.
Dividend yield is not a guaranteed payment
The starting yield determines an annual dividend per original share price. Dividend-per-share and share-price assumptions then grow separately. Net dividends either buy fractional shares at the modeled payment-date price or accumulate as cash. Cash does not earn interest in this model.
Worked example
Investment: 10,000; initial share price: 100; yield: 4%
With no growth, no tax and cash payouts:
100 shares produce 400 annual modeled dividends.
Actual companies can change or cancel dividends.Assumptions and limits
Fees, capital-gains tax, corporate actions, ex-dividend dates, transaction rounding and market volatility are excluded. Fractional reinvestment may not be available at your broker. A tax percentage is not a jurisdiction-specific tax calculation.

Frequently asked questions
Does yield stay fixed as share price changes?
The modeled dividend per share grows with its own assumption; yield relative to the changing price can therefore change.
Can I compare without reinvestment?
Yes. The tool computes both paths using the same assumptions.
Does changing currency perform FX conversion?
No. Currency affects display only.
Follow both price and dividend assumptions
Enter the scenario inputs and inspect how reinvestment affects the displayed share and income projection.
Scope of this workflow
Fractional reinvestment may differ by destination. Fees, corporate actions and other exclusions remain; an entered tax percentage is not jurisdiction-specific advice.
