When to use this calculator

Compare maturity estimates for deposits with different compounding frequencies. Keep the principal, nominal rate and term consistent, and treat the optional flat tax percentage as a separate illustration.

Review the worked example and assumptions below, then use the supported report or copy controls to keep the result with its inputs. Calculations run in this browser; a shared URL can include the values you entered.

How to use Fixed Deposit Maturity Calculator

  1. Enter principal, annual rate and a term in whole years plus additional months.
  2. Choose the compounding frequency and an illustrative tax percentage, including zero.
  3. Review gross interest, modeled tax and net maturity, then copy or export the calculation.

Nominal rate and effective yield differ

Periodic compounding uses P times (1 + r/n) raised to n times years. Simple-interest mode uses P times (1 + r times years). The tax control subtracts a selected fraction of total gross interest at the end; it is not an annual tax-accrual or withholding engine.

Worked example

Principal: 100,000; annual rate: 10%; term: 1 year
Annual compounding: gross maturity 110,000
Illustrative tax at 20% of interest: 2,000
Net maturity: 108,000

Assumptions and limits

Real deposits can use different day counts, payout schedules, senior-citizen rates, penalties and rounding. Currency is display-only. Tax residency, withholding thresholds and annual tax timing are not determined here.

Frequently asked questions

Can I compare compounding frequencies?

Yes. The comparison uses the same nominal rate and term for each supported frequency.

Is the tax amount my actual liability?

No. It is a flat illustrative percentage of modeled interest, excluding your wider tax situation.

What happens at zero interest?

Interest and modeled tax are zero; maturity equals principal.

Read the modeled schedule rather than a quoted product

Enter the scenario’s amount, rate and compounding choice and read the result with its stated payout assumptions.

Scope of this workflow

Actual institutions can use other day counts, penalties and rounding. Display currency is not conversion and the tax input is not a filing calculation.
