When to use this calculator
Estimate the result of saving a fixed amount every month for a planned expense. Compare beginning-month and end-month deposits and review the schedule rather than assuming a bank uses the same accrual convention.
Review the worked example and assumptions below, then use the supported report or copy controls to keep the result with its inputs. Calculations run in this browser; a shared URL can include the values you entered.
How to use Recurring Deposit Projection Calculator
- Enter the monthly deposit, annual rate and a term in whole years and months.
- Choose the compounding frequency, beginning/end-month contribution timing and illustrative tax percentage.
- Review the growth table and net maturity, then download the schedule or JSON report.
An equivalent monthly rate simplifies the illustration
Quarterly, half-yearly and annual nominal rates are converted into an equivalent monthly growth rate. Deposits are then applied at your chosen beginning/end-month point. This allows an internally consistent projection but can differ from a bank's actual quarterly interest and installment rules.
Worked example
Monthly deposit: 1,000; annual rate: 0%; term: 12 months
Total deposits: 12,000
Interest: 0; maturity: 12,000Assumptions and limits
Missed installments, penalties, calendar dates, bank-specific rounding and current product rates are not modeled. Tax is a flat percentage of total interest, not a tax filing calculation.

Frequently asked questions
Does this reproduce every bank's RD maturity?
No. It uses the documented equivalent-monthly-rate model. Confirm the institution's schedule and day-count rules.
Can I choose end-month deposits?
Yes. End-month timing credits growth before adding that month's deposit.
Can I export the projection?
Yes. Use the existing CSV download or the new local JSON calculation report.
Compare deposit timing within the stated model
Choose beginning- or end-month deposits and inspect the schedule rather than assuming every bank uses the same convention.
Scope of this workflow
Missed installments and institution-specific dates or rounding are excluded. The flat tax percentage is not a tax-return calculation.
