When to use this calculator
Add the displayed servings to estimate a meal total or enter custom nutrition-label values for a food. Adjust quantities to match the serving basis, then compare calories and macros with your own target while allowing for recipe variation.
Review the worked example and assumptions below, then use the supported report or copy controls to keep the result with its inputs. Calculations run in this browser; a shared URL can include the values you entered.
How to use Meal Calorie Calculator
- Search a sample food or add a custom food from its nutrition label.
- Set quantities as multiples of the displayed serving, not automatically grams.
- Review calorie and macro totals against your chosen reference target; copy or export.
Serving-based nutrition arithmetic
Each food stores calories and macros per displayed serving. Multiplying by quantity gives the amount in your meal. A quantity of 0.5 is half that serving. Custom foods let you use a package label or measured recipe instead of the illustrative built-in entries.
Worked example
Label per serving: 120 kcal, protein 6g, carbohydrate 18g, fat 3g
Quantity: 1.5 servings
Meal contribution: 180 kcal, protein 9g, carbohydrate 27g, fat 4.5gAssumptions and limits
Built-in foods are approximate examples, not a verified branded-food database. Recipes, preparation and serving weights vary. The 2,000 kcal default is a reference, not a personalized prescription; this is not an assessment of dietary adequacy. Label calories may differ from 4/4/9 macro estimates because of fiber, alcohol and rounding. Custom foods stay in the current page session and are included in exports, but not in legacy share links.

Can I use my own nutrition label?
Yes. Add a custom food with calories and macros per serving, then adjust its quantity.
Is the daily target personalized?
No. Enter your own appropriate reference target. The default does not account for age, pregnancy, medical conditions or activity.
Record quantities before comparing totals
Check the quantity convention for each selected or custom food and inspect the summed entries. Retain a copy of custom entries when needed.
