Enter every page number exactly once. Use commas and ranges; for example, 3,1,2,4-6. The current page count appears after you choose a file.
Included by default at the bottom-left corner. Uncheck to download without branding.
Quick presets replace the sequence after a PDF is selected.
How to reorder pdf pages
Select a PDF from your device. Your file is processed locally in this browser.
Choose the settings that fit your document, then run the tool.
Save the processed PDF to your device and check the output before sharing.
Put pages in the right sequence
Use the page-order field to move a cover page, place appendices where they belong, or fix a scanned document that is out of sequence. The order field describes the complete final document, not just the pages you want to move.
- Separate individual page numbers with commas.
- Use ranges such as 4-7 to include consecutive pages.
- Every page must appear once so no content is accidentally omitted.
Frequently asked questions
Can I move a page to the beginning?
Yes. Put that page number first in the new page order, for example 5,1,2,3,4.
Can I remove pages with this tool?
This tool is designed to reorder all pages and requires each page to appear exactly once. Use a remove-pages tool if you need to delete pages.
Is the original PDF changed?
No. A separate reordered PDF is created in your browser and the source file remains unchanged.
Can I drag and drop PDF pages?
Yes. After a PDF loads, drag a page card to the desired position or use its move controls.
Can I reverse the order of all pages?
Yes. Choose Reverse all pages to generate the reverse sequence quickly.
Can I enter my own page order?
Yes. Enter a comma-separated sequence such as 3,1,2,4-6. Every page must be included exactly once.
Does reordering change text or images?
Reordering changes the sequence of pages, not the content within each page.
Can I remove or duplicate pages here?
This page focuses on reordering the full document. Use a dedicated remove-pages or extract-pages tool for those tasks.
Will my original PDF be replaced?
No. PixelOkay creates a new downloadable PDF and leaves your original file unchanged.
Organize a PDF page by page
When pages are scanned out of order, a report needs a new cover, or several sections were combined incorrectly, reorganizing the PDF is often faster than recreating the document. PixelOkay helps you rearrange pages in an existing PDF and export a new copy. Use the visual page cards to move a page earlier or later, drag a card into a new position, or type a precise sequence when you already know the order.
Popular page-order tasks
- Move a cover page: put a title page, cover letter, or summary at the beginning.
- Fix scanned batches: restore the correct reading order after scanning a stack of pages.
- Reverse a PDF: turn a reverse-scanned document back into its intended order.
- Build a report: arrange the introduction, evidence, appendices, and supporting pages in sequence.
- Use a custom sequence: enter values such as 3,1,2,4-6 when you need a specific order.
Every page number must appear exactly once for a full-document reorder. If the PDF contains 8 pages, your custom sequence must include all eight page numbers with no duplicates. The original content of each page is carried into the new sequence; this tool is for changing order, not editing text inside a page. If you also need to delete, rotate, or extract pages, use the relevant PDF page tool.
Preview and verify before sharing
Use the displayed page numbers and order controls to check your arrangement before processing. The exported file is a separate copy, so the source PDF stays intact. After downloading, open the result and confirm that the first page, page sequence, and any important forms or links look as expected. Some complex interactive features and existing digital signatures may not survive a PDF rewrite exactly as they were.
Free and private PDF organization

Files are processed in this browser. Supporting libraries, workers and optional OCR models load from third-party CDNs. Files must be non-empty and no larger than 50 MB. Keep the original: editing can invalidate digital signatures, and rebuilding pages may not preserve forms, bookmarks or document metadata.
When to use Reorder PDF Pages Online
Put scanned pages back in order or move an appendix behind the main report. Distinguish source page positions from numbers printed on the pages.
How to use this tool
- Choose a supported unencrypted PDF and inspect its previews.
- Use the ordering controls or desired sequence to arrange the pages.
- Create the new PDF and review its beginning, ending and moved sections.
Repair a front-and-back scan using source positions
A scanner may place all fronts first and then the backs in reverse order. Identify which source page contains each printed page before entering a sequence.
| Source positions | Printed content in those positions |
|---|---|
| 1, 2, 3 | Printed pages 1, 3, 5 |
| 4, 5, 6 | Printed pages 6, 4, 2 |
For that exact arrangement, the custom source sequence is 1,6,2,5,3,4. It places the printed pages in order 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Do not reuse it without inspecting your own scan.
- Use thumbnails or a PDF reader to map each source position to its content.
- Move the cards or enter the complete custom sequence. Every source position must occur once; omission and duplication are not valid full-document reorders.
- Review the optional watermark and export. Check each front/back pair in the downloaded copy, not only its first and last page.
Calculated ordering exercise, not a supplied scan or reordered PDF. It changes neither text inside pages nor existing printed numbers. Use Remove Pages for unwanted blanks, Rotate PDF for sideways pages, and Add Page Numbers for new visible labels after the order is final.
Output and limits
Page copying can affect document-level bookmarks, forms and metadata. Keep the original signed file and inspect the result.
Frequently asked questions
Does reordering change the text printed on a page?
It changes page order, not existing printed page numbers. Use Add Page Numbers for new visible labels.
Can this preserve every advanced PDF feature?
Do not assume it will. Review forms, bookmarks and other required features in the downloaded copy.
