How to rotate pdf pages
Select a PDF from your device. Your file is processed locally in this browser.
Choose the settings that fit your document, then run the tool.
Save the processed PDF to your device and check the output before sharing.
Rotate only the pages you need
Correct sideways scans, upside-down pages, or mixed-orientation documents without changing the page order. Enter a page range to rotate only selected pages; leave the range blank to apply the rotation to every page.
- Choose 90°, 180°, or 270° rotation.
- Use comma-separated page numbers and ranges.
- Download a separate PDF, leaving the original file unchanged.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rotate just one page?
Yes. Enter a single page number, such as 4, in the page range field.
Does this upload my PDF?
No. The PDF is read and processed in your browser. The page loads its PDF processing library from a public CDN, but your document bytes are not sent to PixelOkay.
Will rotation change the page content?
Rotation changes the page orientation metadata. It does not intentionally redraw or reduce the quality of the page content.
Can I rotate just one page in a PDF?
Yes. Enter the page number in Pages to rotate, for example 4, and choose the required angle.
Can I rotate every page at once?
Yes. Choose All pages and leave the page range blank to apply the rotation across the document.
What is the difference between 90°, 180° and 270°?
90° turns a page clockwise, 180° flips it upside down, and 270° turns it 90° counterclockwise.
Can I rotate only odd or even pages?
Yes. Use the Apply to filter and optionally enter a page range to narrow the selection further.
Will rotating a PDF reduce its quality?
Rotation changes page orientation rather than intentionally recompressing page images. Always inspect the downloaded file before relying on it.
Is my PDF uploaded to PixelOkay?
The tool is designed to process your selected PDF locally in the browser. Your original file is not overwritten.
Rotate one page or an entire PDF
Use PixelOkay’s free online PDF rotator to fix scanned pages that appear sideways, upside down, or in the wrong orientation. You can rotate every page together or target only the pages that need correction. This is useful for scanned receipts, forms, invoices, school notes, reports, presentations, and documents assembled from multiple sources.
Choose 90° clockwise to turn a page to the right, 180° to turn it upside down, or 90° counterclockwise to turn it left. If only a few pages are wrong, enter page numbers such as 2,5,8-10. The range field works with the odd-page and even-page filters, so you can correct one side of a scanned set without changing the rest of the document.
Common ways to use Rotate PDF
- Fix a single scan: enter the page number and rotate only that page.
- Correct a whole document: apply the same rotation to all pages.
- Fix alternating scans: target odd or even pages when the source was scanned inconsistently.
- Prepare a document for printing: correct landscape pages and upside-down inserts before sharing or printing.
Rotation changes the page’s viewing orientation; it does not rewrite the text or intentionally resize the page. Review the downloaded PDF in your preferred reader before printing or sending it. The original file remains unchanged, and you can repeat the process if you need a different angle.
Private, browser-based PDF rotation
The tool processes the selected PDF in your browser, so you do not need to create an account or install a desktop application. For confidential documents, use a trusted device and keep the original until you have checked the output. The optional PixelOkay watermark is enabled by default and can be switched off before processing.

Files are processed in this browser. Supporting libraries, workers and optional OCR models load from third-party CDNs. Files must be non-empty and no larger than 50 MB. Keep the original: editing can invalidate digital signatures, and rebuilding pages may not preserve forms, bookmarks or document metadata.
When to use Rotate PDF Pages Online
Correct sideways scanned pages in a report while leaving correctly oriented pages unchanged.
How to use this tool
- Open a supported unencrypted PDF.
- Enter the target page range or leave it blank for all pages, then choose the rotation angle.
- Apply rotation, download the copy and inspect its orientation in a PDF reader.
Apply rotation only where the range and filter agree
The page range is narrowed by the selected filter. Rotation is added to each chosen page's existing rotation; it does not set every selected page to one absolute orientation.
| Range | Filter | Pages changed |
|---|---|---|
2-6 | Even-numbered pages | 2, 4 and 6 |
2-6 | Odd-numbered pages | 3 and 5 |
- Inspect your source in a PDF reader and identify which pages need a quarter-turn or half-turn.
- Choose the angle, range and filter together. A range containing only odd positions with the even filter matches nothing.
- For a page that already has rotation, remember the chosen angle is additional. Applying 90° clockwise twice produces a further half-turn, not a reset to 90°.
- Review the optional watermark, export, and inspect the changed pages and a neighboring unchanged page in the downloaded PDF.
Portrait/landscape filters compare the page's stored width and height, not its apparent orientation after existing rotation. If that distinction matters for a mixed scan, use explicit page positions with All pages in the filter.
Calculated selection examples, not a newly rotated file. Rotation does not straighten perspective or small-angle scan tilt. Use Document Scanner for its photo cleanup workflow, or Reorder Pages when the reading order is wrong.
Output and limits
Page rotation changes viewing orientation. It does not deskew a tilted scan or rotate individual page objects. Editing can invalidate signatures.
Frequently asked questions
Will this straighten a slightly tilted scan?
No. Page rotation is not perspective correction or fine deskewing. A photo cleanup workflow may suit that task better.
Does rotation convert the page to an image?
This page changes page orientation rather than offering image conversion. Use PDF to Image when you need a picture output.
